Hey there,

I'm Jacque

I create secondary ELA curriculum so you can be your best teacher!

As a National Board Certified teacher in English Language Arts, I have taught nearly every course in grades 9-12, including both honors and basic skills courses.  My passion is in creating curriculum that sparks curiosity and deep thinking in students.

In addition to classroom teaching, I also spent time as a writing instructor for an online university and I contracted with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) on state assessments. I scored the state writing assessment, wrote state prompts, created training materials for scorers, and scored the alternate assessments called COEs. I now spend my time creating standards-based curriculum for busy ELA teachers.

Like most new teachers, when I started I worked long days, nights, and weekends, often wondering, “why do I need to create curriculum from scratch when people have been teaching novels and essays for hundreds of years,?” I started Love and Let Lit in 2015 to stop the re-creation of the wheel by providing professional and engaging curriculum to help teachers reclaim their nights and weekends.

Whether you’re teaching a unit for the first time, or trying to spice up an existing unit plan, you’re in the right place!
